COVID Update
Shane Lawson • January 4, 2022
Good morning,
As you’ve likely heard in the news this week, the CDC has updated their guidance for isolation & quarantine based on evolving evidence. CU has been consistent in following the isolation and quarantine guidance from the CDC and will continue this path. Therefore, effective immediately, our updated COVID-19 guidelines for quarantines and isolations are as follows:

Also, I want to take this opportunity to provide some important reminders:
Close Contact (Exposure)
A close contact or exposure is defined as having been within 6 feet of someone for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period.
Mask Wearing
Please understand the wearing of masks around others for those coming out of isolation or quarantine as outlined above is a requirementunder these updated guidelines. This will be enforced and failure to comply will result in disciplinary action. Masks must be worn properly, covering both your nose and mouth. This does not include gaiters, bandanas or any other face covering options; only masks are acceptable. The masking requirement is for indoors, outdoors, in vehicles, out of vehicles, anywhere there is contact with another person.
Business Travel and Out-of-Town Work
CU’s business travel and out-of-town work is still being restricted and will be approved only for those meeting the following criteria:
- Completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months, or
- Completed the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months, or
- Have been boosted
Vaccination Status
We encourage employees to submit vaccination and boosted documentation to Human Resources. This will help us make a determination on which guidelines the employee will follow when dealing with exposures as well as approval for business travel.
In closing, we continue to do our very best to protect everyone as best as possible. Thank you for doing your part. If circumstances were to change, we will be sure to communicate any updates. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any questions.
